Choosing the right model for your home

Whether you’re upgrading for your own comfort, building a new home or replacing a broken furnace, you’ll find there are lots of options. Sun Valley HVAC will explain the pros and cons of all the choices and help you choose the best make and model for your home.

Aside from fuel efficiency and fuel types, there are three main types of furnace to choose between:

Single-stage: when the thermostat calls for heat, the furnace operates at 100% until the desired temperature is reached, and then switches off.
Two-stage: These more efficient units operate at 60% at first, and if the desired temperature is not reached within 20 minutes that increases. They are slightly quieter than single-stage furnaces.
Modulating: These units run more often, increasing output in 1% increments. They are the most efficient style, helping to eliminate cold/hot pockets and producing a more precise, consistent temperature.
